Itinerary:


Day 1, Sun Arrival:

Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, you will be met by our representative and escorted to your hotel for the night.


Day 2, Mon Corinth/Epidaurus/Nauplia/Mycenae/Olympia: (BD)

Today depart from Athens for your Classical Tour of Greece. Stop at the Corinth Canal and then at Epidaurus, where the ancient theater is known for its outstanding acoustics Visit the seaport at Nauplia, then proced to the archaeological site of Mycenae, where you will see the tomb of Agamemnon. Continue on to Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games, for the night.


Day 4, Tues Olympia/Delphi: (BD)

Tour Olympia, visiting the Temple of Zeus, the temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic Flame and the archaeological Museum. Depart along the coastal road for Delphi, stopping to see the picturesque village of Arachovna, on the slopes of Mt. Parnassus. Arrival in Delphi for the night.


Day 5, Wed Delphi/Kalambaka: (BD)

Today you will tour the famous town of Delphi, Myth holds that Delphi was founded by the god Zeus, searching for the center of his grandmother, Gaea, the goddess of the earth. He released two eagles, and their paths crossed at Delphi, which already was known as the home of an ancient oracle, served by the priestess Pythia. Visit the archeological site the Museum of Delphi and the Temple of Apollo. Then drive on through Central Greece to the town of Kalambaka, at the foot of the majestic grey rocks crowned by the Meteoran Monasteries.


Day 6, Thurs Meteora/Athens: (B)

Meteora is the home of a fabulous complex of Eastern Orthodox monasteries. Today you will ascend the mountain and enter one or more of the monasteries that admit Western visitors. Be sure to follow your guide’s advice re appropriate dress when visiting monasteries. Usually your tour will include the Great Meteora Monastery and St. Stephanos. Then drive back to Athens, passing the heroic monument of Leonidas of Sparta at Thermophylae. Overnight Athens.


Day 7, Fri Athens/Cruise: Mykonos: (BLD)

This morning you will transfer to the port of Piraeus and board your Louis cruise. Sail to the beautiful island of Myknos, where you will have a chance to stroll on the scenic beaches.


Day 8, Sat Cruise: Patmos/Kusadasi (BLD)

Sail to Patmos, where an optional excursion can bring you the Monastery and Cave where St, John wrote the Book of Revelations. Then sail to Kusadasi in Turkey, where the optional excursion is to the ancient Greco-Roman provincial capital of Ephesus. Visit the magnificent library and the churches and theaters.


Day 10, Mon Athens: (B)

Early morning disembarkation in Piraeus and proceed to Athens for your historical tour of the city, including the Acropolis and its museum.


Day 11, Tues Departure: (B)

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the airport for your homeward flight, with wonderful memories of your tour of Greece.
