Upon
arrival in Cairo, you will be met by our representative and escorted to
your hotel, the Sofitel Sphinx or similar. |
| Day 2
Fri Cairo (BLD) |
Begin the day with a visit
to the fascinating collections of antiquities at the Egyptian Museum.
Tour Old Cairo, including the Church of St. Sergius on the site where
the Holy Family lived in Cairo and Ben Ezra Synagogue near the spot
where pharaohrsquo;s soldiers found the infant Moses. After lunch at a
local restaurant, drive to Giza to see the world-renowned Great
Pyramids and the Sphinx. In the evening, board the sleeper train to
Luxor. A modest dinner will be served on board. |
| Day 3 Sat Luxor/cruise (BLD) |
On board
the train you will be served with a modest breakfast. Arrive at the
Train Station in Luxor, where you will be met and transferred to your
five star deluxe Nabila Nile cruise vessel. Cross the Nile to visit the
pharaohs' tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the tombs of their wives
and children in the Valley of the Queens. See the funerary temple of
Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman to rule as pharaoh in ancient times.
After lunch on board, visit the stupendous Temple of Amon at Karnak and
Luxor Temple. |

Sun Cruise (BLD) |
Sail to Esna and cross the
lock, arriving at Edfu tonight. |
| Day 5 Mon Cruise (BLD) |
A brisk
ride in a horse-drawn carriage brings you through the town of Edfu to
the Temple of Horus, the best preserved temple on the Nile. Sail to Kom
Ombo and visit the temples of Horus the falcon god and Sobek the
crocodile god. Sail to Aswan and dock for the night. |

Tue Cruise/Aswan/Cairo (BD) |
Check out of the cruise.
Today you will tour the awesome Aswan dams, and next an ancient granite
quarry complete with an unfinished Obelisk. Then we go by motor launch
to the island temples of Philae. (Opportunity to fly to Abu Simbel, to
visit the temples of Ramses II and his Nubian Queen Nefertari; then fly
back to Aswan is available at additional cost.) In the evening transfer
to the Aswan Train Station to board the sleeper-train to Cairo. A
modest dinner will be served on board. |
| Day 7 Wed Cairo (B) |
On board
the train you will be served with a modest breakfast. Arrive at the
Train Station in Cairo, where you will be met and transferred to your
hotel, Sofitel Le Sphinx or similar. Day of leisure. |

Thu Departure (B) |
After breakfast at your
hotel, transfer to the airport for your homeward flight. |
