Here’s the best of Egypt in a week: a good look at Cairo and a 5-Day Cruise along the Nile.

DAY 1: CAIRO
Our representative greets you at the airport and whisks you to your hotel.

DAY 2: CAIRO (BL)
On your first full day in Egypt we show you the Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the Citadel of Saladin, and the Mohammed Ali Mosque, made of alabaster. pyramids.

DAY 3: ASWAN (BLD)
We fly to Aswan and board our luxury Nile cruiser in time for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon we sail by graceful felucca among the islands of the Nile.

DAY 4: ASWAN & KOM OMBO (BLD)
First we tour the awesome Aswan dams, and next an ancient granite quarry complete with an unfinished obelisk. Then we go by motor launch to the island temples of Philae. Re-embarking on our Nile cruiser, we sail downstream to Kom Ombo to visit its twin temples.

DAY 5: EDFU & ESNA (BLD)
We dock in Edfu, climb aboard horse-drawn carriages, and clip-clop through the town to the Temple of Horus, Egypt’s best-preserved. Re-embarking, we cruise to Esna and cross the lock. Evening finds us in Luxor.

DAY 6: LUXOR (BLD)
Crossing the Nile, we tour the magnificent tombs in the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens, including the great funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Returning to our cruiser, we stop at the Colossi of Memnon on the way. The gigantic Great Temple of Amon at Karnak, and the mighty Temple of Luxor are our goals this afternoon.

DAY 7: LUXOR & CAIRO (B)
Check out of your floating hotel and fly back to Cairo.

DAY 8: CAIRO/USA (B)
Our representative escorts you to the airport for your homeward flight.

• This tour departs from Cairo Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday.
