Itinerary

Day 1, USA/Cairo: Board EgyptAir's direct flight to Cairo at JFK International Airport. Your flight will leave at 6:30 p.m.
Day 2, Arrival: Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met by our representative and escorted to Sofitel Le Sphinx Hotel or similar.
Day 3, Cairo:

Today we tour Old Cairo, including the ChurchSt. Sergius (Abu Serga) on the site where the Holy Family lived in Cairo, in a cave underneath the church, and Ben Ezra Synagogue near the spot where pharaoh’s soldiers found the infant Moses. Visit also the Hanging Church. Drive to the north to visit the Coptic St. Mary at Zuweila Alley (El-Ezbaweya). Continue to visit St. Mary’s Tree in Matariyah. Visit St. Mary Church in Zeitoun, where the Virgin Mary has appeared several times. Proceed to Mostorod, where The Christ Child caused a spring to gush from the earth. Overnight at Sofitel Le Sphinx Hotel or similar.                                                      

Day 4Sakha: (B) Today we head to Meniet Samanoud to visit the granite trough, which was used by the Virgin Mary for kneading dough, and a water-well, which the Christ Child himself hallowed.  Then continue to Kafr El Sheikh to visit the church at Sakha, to observe the rock with Jesus foot-print. Drive back to Cairo for overnight at Sofitel Le Sphinx Hotel or similar.

Day 5Cairo: (B)

Drive to Giza Plateau and visit the world-renowned Great Pyramids, the only remaining monuments of the World’s Seven Wonders, and the Sphinx. Visit the fascinating collections of antiquities at the Egyptian Museum, including King Tut treasures. Overnight at Sofitel Le Sphinx Hotel or similar.

Day 6,  Wadi El Natroun: (B)

Drive to Wadi El Natroun to visit some of the monasteries, Anba Bishoy, Abu Makar (if permit is optained), El Surian and Al Baramos. Drive back to Cairo for overnight at Sofitel Le Sphinx Hotel or similar.
Day 7  Maadi/Miniah: (B) Early departure to Visit the Church of the Holy Virgin with its three cupolas on the banks of the Nile at Maadi the sailing point of holy family trip to upper Egypt & where found the Bible floating & opened "blessed be Egypt my people". Move on to the Monastery of St. Simon (Simeon) the Tanner, dramatically situated in the Mokattam mountain, on the outskirts of Cairo. St. Simon was a 10th century saint whose faith is said to have moved this mountain. Continue to El Miniah for overnight at ETAP in Miniah.
Day 8  Miniah: (B) Begin the day with a visit to the Monastery of Virgin Mary (Gabal El-Tair), and Al-Ashmounein sites. Continue to visit Abu Hennis, a small Christian town with a lot of history and ancient churches. Opportunity to climb to the caves of Abu Hennis, to view the painting of the Holy Family’s flight to Egypt. Overnight at ETAP hotel in Miniah.
Day 9  Assiut: (B) Early visit to the Monastery of El Moharrak, and St.  Mary (Deir Doronka). Drive back to Cairo for overnight. Overnight at Sofitel Le Sphinx Hotel or similar.
Day 10  Zaafarana: (B) Early departure to Zaafarana to visit the Monastery of St. Paul. Built in the end of the 4th century and is considered to be very well preserved and it built on the Basilican style. This is one of the first monasteries to teach Christianity and depended financially on the caravans (merchants) passing by for food and health supplies. Most of the icons in that monastery were donated by people passing by. From there drive to St. Antonio Monastery, built to be the first Christian school in the eastern region. It has a natural water well that provided water to the living in the two monasteries. Drive to Ein El Sokhna for overnight.
Day 11 St. Catherine: (B) Descending from Mount Sinai at sunrise. Then tour the Monastery of St. Catherine. Lunch at your hotel in St. Catherine. Pre-dawn opportunity to climb Mt. Sinai, where Moses received the tables of the Ten Commandments. Overnight in St. Catherine.

Day 12   Cairo: (B)

Drive back to Cairo for overnight. Overnight at Sofitel Le Sphinx Hotel or similar.

Day 13   Departure:  (B)

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the airport for EgyptAir’s direct flight to JFK.
