2 Arrival: |
Upon
arrival in Cairo, you will be met by our representative and escorted to
your hotel, Sofitel Le Sphinx or similar. Afternoon at leisure. |
| Wed Day 3 Cairo: (BL) |
Begin the day with a visit to the fascinating
collections of antiquities at the Egyptian Museum. Tour Old Cairo,
including the Church of St. Sergius on the site where the Holy Family
lived in Cairo and Ben Ezra Synagogue, near the spot where pharaoh's
soldiers found the infant Moses. In the afternoon, after lunch at a
local restaurant drive to Giza to see the world-renowned Great Pyramids
and the Sphinx. |

4 Aswan/Cruise: (BLD) |
Transfer
to the airport for your flight to Aswan, where you will be transferred
to your Five-Star Deluxe Queen Nabila Nile cruise vessel, in an outside
junior suite, with French door, overlooking the Nile. (Opportunity to
fly to Abu Simbel and visit the temples of Ramses II and his queen
Nefertari, moved to their present location to save them when the Aswan
dam was built) After lunch on board, sail in a traditional felucca
among the islands in the Nile. |
| Fri Day 5 Cruise: (BLD) |
Today you will visit beautiful Philae Temple, the
Aswan Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk. Sail to Kom Ombo and visit the
temples of Horus the falcon god and Sobek the crocodile god. Sail to
Edfu and dock for the night. |
| Sat Day
6 Cruise: (BLD) |
A
brisk ride in a horse-drawn carriage brings you through the town of
Edfu to the Temple of Horus, the best preserved temple on the Nile.
Sail to Esna and cross the lock, arriving at Luxor tonight. |
| Sun Day 7 Cruise: (BLD) |
Cross the Nile to visit the pharaohs’ tombs in the
Valley of the Kings, the tombs of their wives and children in the
valley of the Queens and the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. After
lunch, visit the magnificent Temples of Karnak and Luxor. |

8 Cruise/Cairo: (B) |
Check
out of the cruise and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo,
where you will return to your hotel, the Sofitel Sphinx or similar. |
| Tue Day 9 Alexandria: (B) |
Drive to Alexandria, the Mediterranean city founded
by Alexander the Great. Visit the new Library, the National Museum,
Kayet Bay Fortress, Pompey’s Pillar, the Catacombs and the Roman
Amphitheater. Drive back to Cairo where
you will stay at the Sofitel Le Sphinx.

out of the cruise and drive to the resort town of Hurghada on the Red
Sea, where you will stay at Nabila Grand Makadi Hotel or similar.
Unpack your luggage in your resort hotel and head for the beach! The
crystalline Red Sea waters, busy with brightly colored tropical fish,
are yours to enjoy as you like. |

Full day of sun and sea to plan as you like. Why not
go diving in the underwater nature reserves, or if you prefer, you can
opt for a trek to a desert Bedouin camp. Your hotel concierge can make
