Pharaonic Highlights Itinerary
Day 0, Saturday
If you have selected us to arrange your international travel, you will depart at 6:30 pm on Egypt Air from New York to Cairo.
Day 1, Sunday
Upon arrival in Cairo you will be met by a Museum Tours Representative, who will drive you through Cairo and across the Nile to your hotel. The rest of the evening is free to relax and get over your jet lag.

Day 2, Monday
After breakfast, you and your guide will visit the Pyramids at Giza. If you wish, you can explore inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu and visit the Solar Boat Museum (both are Extra cost options). Take acamel ride, then make a visit to the ageless Sphinx of Khafra with its Valley Temple. After lunch on your own, visit the ancient necropolis at Saqqara. Sites include: the Step Pyramid complex of Djoser (the world's first pyramid), the Mastaba tomb of Mereruka and the Pyramid of Teti with its pyramid texts. You will then visit the ancient capital of Memphis where you will see the magnificent and beautiful Colossus of Ramses II before returning to your hotel.

Day 3, Tuesday
This morning you will check out of your hotel, drive across the Nile and explore theEgyptian Museum with the Treasures of Tutankhamen and the Royal Mummy Room (Extra cost option) . After lunch on your own, visit the Citadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque before flying to Luxor.

Day 4, Wednesday
This morning your guide will take you for a horse drawn carriage ride to visit Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in the world. Later we will have a chance to exploreLuxor Temple . There will be plenty of time in the late afternoon to visit the Bazaar.

Day 5, Thursday
After an early breakfast you will cross the Nile to visit the West Bank. Begin your day by hiking the ancient workers trail (or drive if you prefer) to the Valley of the Kings, where you will visit three tombs of the great kings of the 18th, 19th and 20th dynasties. The Tomb of Tutankhamen is an Extra cost option. You will then tour Dier El Bahri and the Temple of Hatshepsut,Medinet Habu , and the Colossi of Memnon, the giant statues of Amenhotep III.

Day 6, Friday
If you wish, this morning your guide will take you to explore the Valley of Colors where the ancients mined the ochre pigments used in their paints. After lunch you can relax as you Sail the Nile on a felucca.

Day 7, Saturday
In the morning fly to Cairo and check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free. You can revisit your favorite sights, relax, or shop in the famed Khan el Khalili bazaar.

Day 8, Sunday
Depart Cairo for home.

OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS: :
Optional side tour to Abu Simbel: On Friday and Saturday you can select an optional tour to Aswan and Abu Simbel , the fabulous rock-cut temple of Rameses the Great. One of the most spectacular monuments in Egypt, it was saved from the rising waters of the Aswan High Dam through an international effort. Available at $350.00 per person.
Day 6, Friday
Travel by private van to Aswan, stopping along the way to visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu and the temple at Kom Ombo. Upon your arrival you will see the sights of the city as time permits

Day 7, Saturday
In the morning fly to Abu Simbel to visit the rock cut temples of Rameses II. After your visit you will fly to Cairo and check into your hotel. The rest of the day you are on your own.

Day 8, Sunday
Leave Cairo and return to New York and then home.
